Monomax Congresses & Incentives started its activity in 1991 as an incoming tour operator for St Petersburg. As time passed, it became obvious that St Petersburg's scientific significance, business verve as well as cultural and historical heritage are attracting more and more international conferences and business travellers. In mid 90's the Monomax team decided to concentrate on the conference travel market and to gather all their energy in promoting St Petersburg as the leading conference destination in Russia. The company advanced from a Destination Management Company to a Professional Conference Organizer, capable of handling virtually all aspects of conference organization, including financial management, secretariat service, abstract handling and online registration. Since 1997, Monomax Congresses & Incentives organized more than 800 meetings, including large congresses of international associations. Alexander V. Boykov, Director of Monomax Congresses&Incentives                                                    Important Milestones in the History of Monomax Congresses & Incentives   In 2001 International Health Association, VHPB, CDC, UNICEF, GAVI  and Bill&Milinda Gates Fund entrusted full scale secretariat management functions of International Symposium on Immunization Systems and Application of Hepatitis B Vaccine  in Countries of Central and Eastern Europe, CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) to Monomax Congresses & Incentives           In 2001 Monomax Congresses & Incentives joined International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) in “Congress Travel and Destination Management Companies” category.   In 2003 Monomax started branching out regionally and opened an office in the capital of Russia, Moscow.   2003 was a very important point in the development of Monomax Congresses & Incentives as a professional organizer of congresses: the company developed and launched the first version of its own integrated conference management software “Alternative Events” that offered on-line registration of participants, abstract submittal, and collection of registration fees.   In 2004 Monomax took part in international program “New Managers for Russia”, sending its specialists as interns to Sweden for closer communication with representatives of meetings industry.  It has played an integral part in the development and growth of the company as one of the leading players of the market. It also confirmed the importance of aggressive promotion of the city and necessity of integration to the international MICE industry, promotion of  St Petersburg as a venue for International Conventions, and establishing a unified organization complying with international standards - Convention&Visitors Bureau. As a result of the training program an executive summary was worked out. It helped considerably in making a decision on establishing the City Marketing Agency in 2006   In 2004 Alternative Events Software has been successfully applied in the organization of the XI th International Congress on Sound and Vibration (St Petersburg, 5 – 8 July, 500 participants) sponsored by the International Institute of Acoustic and Vibration (IIAV)   In 2005 Monomax  Moscow branch`s business activity was on the upswing and resulted in a significant accomplishment. Organization of European Polymer Congress by Monomax Moscow branch was the proof of high efficiency in preparation and management of large-scale international events.   In 2005 the company continued its regional expansion – Monomax Congresses & Incentives provided organizational support as PCO in managing events in Sochi.   In 2005 a unique product – AE Software – was improved and became fully integrated conference management software. It helps to streamline delegate data processing, financial and congress management and it is currently used during all international events that are organized with assistance by Monomax Congresses & Incentives.   In 2005 on the eve of its 15th anniversary the company went through reorganization aimed at further company development, team-building, and improving quality of organization, service and event management.   In 2006 the company celebrated its 15th anniversary.   In 2006 Monomax organized a panel discussion “Development of MICE industry in St Petersburg” in the framework of VII St.Petersburg Forum “Tourism and Resorts” at International Conference “MICE-Industry in Russia: From Theory to Practice”.   In May of 2007 long standing ideas came true: with the Government support the first event initiated by Monomax took place in St Petersburg. It was the I International Forum FROM SCIENCE TO BUSINESS “International Experience in Infrastructure Development of Innovative Projects”. Long term cooperation with scientific organizations gives us the opportunity to evaluate objectively problems in contemporary Russian research and we do our best to assist in their solution.   In the summer of 2007 there was another breakthrough in development of regional markets – with the organizational assistance of Monomax Congresses & Incentives an important scientific conference was held in the Caucasus region (South Russia).   The summer of 2007 was marked by another important event – high technologies developed by Monomax were recognized at government level. Monomax Congresses & Incentives IT-engineers successfully implemented an integrated conference management software that helped to streamline delegate data processing and on-line accreditation of participants of  IX International Economic Forum with the overall number of participants being 8970 that was held in St Petersburg in June 8-10, 2007.   In 2007 Monomax Congresses & Incentives set its own record in organizing events of great international importance - 5 conventions of international associations with the number of participants from 300 to 2500.     At the beginning of 2008 was found a new branch of MONOMAX Congresses & Incentives – Monomax Intelligence Technologies, which specializes on development and optimization of  MICE software solutions
